Any early Forza 6 impressions?

Kinja'd!!!

I finally pre-ordered it yesterday but I’m too cheap to get the Ultimate edition. I’ll live vicariously through Oppo.

My main concerns from the demo were the engine sounds (seemed subdued after FM5’s great audio) and the way the tire squeal sounded like it’d been recorded through a soup can.

Also, how do the cars handle compared to FM5 (or FM4 for that matter)? They felt different in the demo but I couldn’t quite figure out why.

Some sound great (V12 Vantage). Some sound like arse (F Type).

Like Forza 5 but a bit more understeer and a lot more rear end grip.

Other thoughts: It’s really dark at night and driving a wet Nurburgring is really hard.

This game is great!

The only thing I want to know: what engines can you swap into the new Raptor and GT?

Nothing for the GT but a NASCAR engine for the Raptor.

That’s decent I guess. I was hoping for Voodoo V8 swap in both but I don't even have an XB1 so it doesn't even matter

Is Maple Valley Raceway in Forza 6? It’s one of my favorite tracks in Forza 3 & 4. Asking if anyone else knows.

Nope. Maple and New York are the tracks I’m gagging for to return to the series.

Forza really put a focus on getting real-world tracks for this generation. It hasn’t quite caught up to GT6 and there’s many international and classic tracks that I’d love to see but it is cool for some of the great American road circuits to finally get some love.

I’m thrilled we’re getting Watkins Glen, COTA and Lime Rock Park this time around, plus Sonoma is back (though it I’m not fond of it).

So far other than the demo races I've only had time to look to build one car before work, but a 69 Daytona at Daytona is awesome!

I thought the new Ford GT sounded kind of blah in the demo and I’ve heard the new Lotus E23 F1 car doesn’t sound great but that could just be a fault of the turbo V6 and the fact that these F1 cars litteraly don’t sound great.

One thing I will say about the sound is while there is less than Forza 5 there is still a lot of induction noise.

No option to swap a V8 into the new GT for the lulz?

This makes me rather sad.

Darn, although I do like those new tracks.

You never know though. Forza 5 tacked on about 3 tracks as free DLC. I wouldn’t put it past them to consider doing that again. The T10 guys originally said though that even for Forza 4 there was such a major difference in the way the game rendered that they had to take out several tracks from the previous game because of the large time constraints it would take to remake them. I imagine there’s a similar case there for FM6.
